Many times, when we apply steel structure to some large projects, it is basically inseparable from the link process, and there are many link methods, which also have their own advantages and disadvantages. Next, let's make a specific analysis:
1. Welding:
Advantages: strong adaptability to geometry; Simple structure; Automatic operation can be realized without weakening the section; The connection has good tightness and large structural stiffness.
Disadvantages: very high material requirements; In the heat affected zone, it is easy to cause local material change; Welding residual stress and residual deformation reduce the bearing capacity of compression members; The welded structure is very sensitive to cracks; The problem of low temperature cold embrittlement is more prominent.
2. Common bolted connection:
Advantages: convenient loading and unloading, simple equipment.
Disadvantages: bolts should not be sheared when the accuracy is low; When the bolt precision is high, the processing and installation are complex and the price is high.
3. High strength bolt connection:
Advantages: friction type has small shear deformation and good elastic performance, especially suitable for structures with follow-up load; The bearing capacity of pressure bearing type is higher than that of friction type, and the connection is compact.
Disadvantages: friction surface treatment, slightly complex installation process and slightly high cost; Pressure bearing connections have large shear deformation and shall not be used in structures bearing dynamic loads.
As for the connection method used in steel structure engineering at present, it should be determined according to the actual situation. The above contents are for reference only.
